Company Profile

The original CENSOL organization, formerly a strategic alliance of Canadian environmental companies, providing "Canadian ENvironmental SOLutions" was established in 1994. The alliance company was an integrated environmental solutions provider, as part of a program supported by Industry Canada to enhance Canada's lead role in a global environmental market. The focus of the team was to facilitate the provision of integrated environmental solutions to international markets. In May 2003 Pollutech International Limited took over the business of CENSOL Inc., including the CENSOL Trademark, to use as it's new name. This was undertaken to demonstrate and enhance it's focus as a provider of unique solutions using the "Strategic Alliance" approach that had proven to be highly effective over the past two decades.

CENSOL and it's principals are active members of a number of national and international business associations, including the Ontario Environment Industry Association (ONEIA), the Canadian Environmental Auditing Association (CEAA), the Canadian Manufacturer's and Exporters (CME), the Association of the Chemical Profession of Ontario (ACPO), the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice (IPEP), the Canadian Environmental Certifications Approval Board (CECAB) and the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Canada (ADR Canada). CENSOL team members are also members of a number of technical associations such as the Water Environment Federation (WEF), American Water Works Association (AWWA), and the Canadian Society of Environmental Biologists. CENSOL is active in the community, supporting the Chamber of Commerce and the Halton Region Center of Environmental Excellence.

CENSOL Inc. is directed by Richard Laughton, Project Director for all of the projects referenced. Mr. Laughton recently stepped down a member of the Board of Directors of ONEIA and CEAA, after 15 years of service, to allow for the introduction of "new faces with new ideas". While an ONEIA Director, Richard chaired both the International Trade and Business Development Committees. During his tenure at CEAA he structured and chaired the Appeals & Discipline Committee. He has participated as a member of the Board of Examiners for both CEAA and IPEP. Mr. Laughton was founder of the national "Project Finance Cluster" for the Canadian Environment Industry Association and continues to serve as a member of the "Export Finance and Insurance Committee" of the CME. Prior to the change to CENSOL, Mr. Laughton was President of Pollutech Group of Companies Inc. and Pollutech International Limited.
