FAMILY RESEARCH PAGE

CENSOL Inc. hosts the family research web sites of the Laughton family in Milton, Ontario Canada.  These are not corporate pages of CENSOL Inc., however you are welcome to view them at your leisure.

At present, the following are hosted on this web site:

The story of the First World War, Battle of Arras (Vimy Ridge 1917), as seen through the records of George Van Wyck Laughton, grandfather to the webmaster Richard Van Wyck Laughton.  This research is provided on the Great War site.

The family history of the Laughton Family, which originated from the Holm & Paplay Parish on the Orkney Islands in Scotland.  The genealogy work, from the time of John Laughton (circa 1771-1775) was started by Paul MacDonell Laughton of Ottawa, Ontario as is now being transferred to this web site.  This is recorded on our Family Tree.

The 2005 "Victory in Europe (VE)" project to commemorate the story of Josiah Alexander Chancellor Kennedy ("JACK") my grandfather on mother's side who enlisted in the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, moved to the Royal Irish Rifles, then served out the remainder of WWI in a German POW camp.  Visit this new endeavour, just started in May 2005 at the World War One site.

New for 2005 and 2006 is the Ognoski-Kirschner Genealogy site that traces the history of my wife Olga Emilia Laughton (nee Ognoski) as the family emigrated to Canada from Czechoslovakia and the Ukraine in the early-1990's.  With the matriarch of the family (Emilia Kirschner) now 92 years old, it is time to get the facts in place.

New in March 2006, in association with the Canadian Expeditionary Force Study Group (CEFSG WWI Research), is the "CEFSG Matrix Project".  This project is intended to bring together the vast amount of information from the research team on the Canadian units that served in World War One / The Great War.
